ASHA Standards for Certification
The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) has defined a list of standards that must be acquired by graduate students in the course of their education and training. These standards ensure that new professionals to the field have the required experience, skills, and knowledge to effectively enter the workforce and to serve as innovators in the field.
Graduate students should become familiar with the following ASHA standards for certification:
Procedures for Complaints Against Graduate Education Program
A complaint about any accredited program or program in candidacy status may be submitted by any individual(s).
Complaints about the graduate program should be addressed to the appropriate advisor:
The complaint will be reviewed by the graduate advisor and school director. An initial response will be provided within 2 weeks of receipt of the complaint.
If the complaint is not resolved to either party’s satisfaction, the complaint may be referred to the SDSU Ombudsman. If the complaint cannot be resolved at SDSU, complaints may also addressed to the Council on Academic Accreditation.
