Gain Undergraduate Research Experience!

student researcherIf you are an undergraduate at SDSU in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, you can take a research practicum course (SLHS 595) with Dr. Emmorey.

If you are an undergraduate at UCSD in Psychology or in Linguistics with an ASL major/minor you can take a 199 course with Dr. Emmorey.

Taking either of these research courses requires Dr. Emmorey’s approval, working 5 – 10 hours per week in the lab (depending upon the number of units), and writing a short paper (3-5 pages) at the end of the semester/quarter. Some fluency in American Sign Language is desirable, but not mandatory.

If you are interested in volunteering in the laboratory or in taking a research course, please contact Laboratory Director, Dr. Karen Emmorey, kemmorey@sdsu.edu

Thank you for your interest!
