    Application Instructions

    Applications are accepted beginning October 1st.

    Deadlines: January 20 for receipt (not postmark) of all application materials. February 1 for receipt (not postmark) of GRE and TOEFL (if applicable) scores.

    Admission decisions will be made by mid-March.

    All materials are sent to SDSU only.

    Applying to the AuD Joint Doctoral Program in Audiology requires the following steps:

    1. Submission of Official GRE Test Scores to SDSU
      1. Contact the Educational Testing Service (ETS) and request that your GRE scores be sent to San Diego State University electronically. Use Institution Code: 4682, Department Code: 0620.

      2. Foreign applicants must also submit TOEFL scores.

    2. Submission of the Cal-State University (CSU) Online Application
      1. Complete the CSU application online. There is an application fee.
      2. Indicate "Audiology (AuD)" as your Major/Program Objective.
      3. Indicate "Doctorate" as the Degree Objective.

    3. Submission of the School's Online AuD Application
      1. Complete the School of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences Application. (now closed)
      2. Submit it online, and also print it and include it with your Supplemental Materials packet (see step 5).

    4. Submission of Two Sets of Official Transcripts From All Institutions Attended:

      • ONE official set sent to:
        Enrollment Services
        Graduate Admission Document Processing Unit
        San Diego State University
        San Diego, CA 92182-7416

      • ONE official set included in your Supplemental Materials packet (see step 5).

        NOTE: Do not submit transcripts to Enrollment Services prior to submitting the CSU On-line application.

        NOTE: Students who received their undergraduate degree from SDSU do not need to submit an SDSU transcript as Enrollment Services can access those transcripts electronically. HOWEVER, if you attended any other universities or junior colleges, you must submit transcripts from those schools even if those grades appear on your SDSU transcript. This holds true for all other universities' transcripts as well.

    5. Submission of Supplemental Materials to the School of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences
      1. Include a hardcopy of the School's online application.
      2. Include one (1) Applicant Essay: See Guidelines for the Applicant Essay.
      3. Include three (3) Letters of Recommendation.
        NOTE: There is no recommendation form. Recommendation Letters are to be sent with the application packet in sealed envelopes signed across the sealed flap by the person writing the letter. Letters of Recommendation may be submitted separately to the School if necessary.
      4. Include an unofficial copy of your GRE Scores
      5. Include one set of official transcripts.
      6. Include your resume of experiences applicable to this field, and copies of relevant Abstracts/Papers published by you (optional) .
      7. Mail the complete packet to (must be received by January 20th):

    Notification of admission letters should be mailed out the second week of March. Wait-list decisions will be made through April 15th.
