Advanced ASL students can gain research experience as a volunteer or through a research practicum (SLHS 595 or 795) at the Laboratory for Language and Cognitive Neuroscience (LLCN) working with Dr. Karen Emmorey.

At LLCN, we study signed languages and the people who use them to ask:

    • What is universal about human language?
    • How is signing different from speaking?
    • Does your language affect how you think?
    • Is the deaf, signing brain Different from the hearing, speaking brain?

See the LLCN site for further information.
