SDSU/UCSD Doctor of Audiology students present at the 2008 California Academy of Audiology Meeting in Sacramento

Four audiology doctoral students attended the 2008 annual California Academy of Audiology office in Sacramento. This year was the first year the Academy had a student research forum. Based on the positive feedback of the event, there will be an expanded format for doctoral presentations at the Meeting in San Diego in September, 2009.

Students involved and the title of their presentations:

  • Caitlin Meuel (Year 2), "Ototoxic Monitoring of Adult Patients with Cystic Fibrosis"

  • Natasha Fischang (Year 3), "Evaluating the CHAMP (Cochlear Hydrops Auditory Masking Procedure) in an ENT Clinic"

  • Lindsey McMahan (Year 3), "Case Study: SSNHL in a Patient with a Port Wine Stain"

  • Dave Stewart (Year 4), "Increasing the Sensitivity of Electrocochleography Using the SP/AP Area Ratio"
